Community Solar Gardens are centrally located solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that produce electricity for participating subscribers. They're great for people that want to go solar but are unable to do so on their own.
Who is it for? Perhaps you live in an apartment, have a shaded roof at home, or don’t have space at your organization. Now you can subscribe to a community solar garden installed near you and get credits on your utility bill.
Wondering what community solar gardens are all about and how they might work for you? Join us at a free workshop Wednesday, December 14th at 7:00pm at Chisago Lakes Area Library to learn more.
Experts from the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) will present the basics about community solar gardens, then dig into details like pricing, contracts, and comparing developers. We’ll also hear from Neighborhood Energy Connection about ways to save energy at home.
After the presentation you'll have a chance to network directly with community solar garden developers who are offering subscriptions to Chisago County residents. You'll also get to talk with solar installers who could help you put solar on your own property.
Who can come? This free event is open to the public, and friends and family are welcome! Click the "Register" button to join us.
