Chinsegut Wildlife Day | February 24

Photography Exhibit Registration

This photography showcase is being held in honor of two days set aside to appreciate the importance of and raise awareness for wildlife conservation.

The first, World Wildlife Day began in December 2013 as the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the third of March the day of signature of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. Each season a new theme is presented and 2018 the theme is “Big Cats”, this includes our Florida Panther; however this day is not just about this year’s theme it is about all endangered wildlife and plant species around the world. (

Second, National Wildlife Day which was begun in 2005 by Colleen Paige to bring awareness to wildlife in many ways by being their voice, visiting zoos, donating to wildlife sanctuaries as well as becoming educated on conservation. In 2018, National Wildlife Day will be observed on February 22 in honor of Steve Irwin.  (
