Chingford Fire Station SEND Friendly Open Day
You’re invited to a SEND-friendly Open Day at Chingford Fire Station on Sunday 20 July 2025—a fun, inclusive event for families of all abilities, raising money for The Firefighters Charity.
This specially adapted Open Day has been designed with accessibility, sensory needs, and inclusivity at its heart. Whether you’re coming for the fire engines, activities, or just to meet the team, there’s something for everyone.
What to Expect:
- 🚒 Fire engine tours with bespoke built accessible wheelchair ramp.
- 🖐️ Quiet Hose Spraying using water from the mains and not from the noisy fire engine.
- 🎨 Crafts, games, and inclusive play zones
- 🧠 Wellbeing dogs to meet and stroke
- 💓 CPR ‘Have a Go’ Station – learn lifesaving skills
- 🚑 London Ambulance Service – meet the medics and see inside an ambulance
- 👮 Police attendance – vehicles to explore and officers to chat with
- ♿ On-site facilities include accessible toilets, changing space, and step-free access
- 🎧 Calm tent with sensory toys, ear defenders, and quiet seating
- 🚌 Accessible double-decker bus – explore an inclusive vehicle from our community transport partners
- 💦 Water/Sensory Play (SEND-adapted equipment available)
- 🍰 Cake stall, tombola, and fundraising fun

- Booking a time slot helps us keep numbers comfortable and ensure a relaxed atmosphere for all
- Free entry – donations welcome on the day for The Firefighters Charity
- Staffed by your local Red Watch and supported by volunteers
- No parking available on site, parking available on nearby local roads – please walk or use public transport if possible
