San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in North America, and hosts the largest Chinese community outside of Asia. As your guide to the densest neighborhood in San Francisco, our knowledgeable docents will navigate and lead tour participants through street mazes to discover the many sides of Chinatown.
"Dynasty to Democracy" Heritage Walking Tour led by the Chinese Culture Center emphasizes heritage and Chinatown as a living, vibrant community through discovering the many stories in Chinatown and within the Chinese American community. The tour focuses on the history, social activism, and civil rights of Chinese Americans and San Francisco Chinatown. The Chinese Culture Center is a non-profit, community-based organization leading tours in Chinatown for over 20 years. As one of our long-standing programs to educate through promoting Chinese culture and heritage, "Dynasty to Democracy" walking tour brings you from the tourist surface to dive deep into the heart of the Chinatown community.
