In the past decade China has risen as a tech powerhouse with Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba and other emerging tech giants. Unlike Europe, China follows a science and industry policy in order to boost innovation and educate talent. The event aims to explore and explain China’s fast and furious way of utilising and disrupting the market through concrete use cases.

SPEAKERS

Hui Zhang studied in Beijing, Pforzheim and Utah and started his career at VOITH AG in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management in China and Germany, followed by holding various management positions at KIEKERT AG, Lotus and Leoni AG. With his many years of intercultural experience and his profound knowledge of the industry, he manages the NIO location in Munich.

George Huang is the President of International Business Group and Chief Human Resources Officer of SenseTime. He is responsible for business development and sales in Middle East, Europe, and America regions. As an expert in leadership development and talent management, he also holds the role of Chief Human Resources Officer of SenseTime.

Xiaohu Wang is a professional expert with experience in Industrial Internet and Automation Systems, currently is General Manager of Haier Mass Customization Platform, and CIO & Business Application Architect of Haier COSMOPlat. Wang Xiaohu joined the Haier Group in 2014, where he built the digital information working system to interconnect user to join the whole process of business process, including interaction, opening R&D, manufacture and deliver.

Philip Meissner is the Chair of Strategic Management and Decision Making at ESCP Europe and the Academic Director of ESCP’s Master in Strategy and Digital Business. He studies decision making, exponential technologies and the interplay of artificial and human intelligence.

Julia-Caroline Schmidt, is responsible for the China business at windeln.de. Prior to joining windeln.de, Julia worked for August Storck KG in Singapore and Shanghai as Brand and Business Unit Manager. Before that, Julia worked in the product management for L’Oréal for four years in Switzerland. She has studied Economics and Politics at the University of Warwick in Great Britain and holds a Master of International Management from the London School of Economics.

Dr. Jochen Ditsche
Jochen Ditsche is a Partner in the Digital Competence Center in Munich. An expert in digitization processes, Jochen has been advising clients across a wide range of industries since 2008, including telecommunications, financial services and automotive. He specializes in establishing new sales strategies and helps clients adapt their product portfolio. He also develops brand new digital business models for his clients and supports companies through the process of driving their own digital transformation. Jochen Ditsche holds a degree and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Mainz. He also attended Pennsylvania State University.

Philipp Leutiger is Chief Digital Officer of LafargeHolcim, the leading global building materials company. Philipp is responsible for creating global initiatives in all steps of the building materials value chain to digitalize the entire business of LafargeHolcim. Prior to joining LafargeHolcim, he was Senior Partner at RolandBerger, specializing in digital transformation of industrial companies. Philipp is a believer in use case driven, open innovation approaches for the Industrial Internet.

Thomas Heilmann has built his reputation as a co-founder, start-up financier and shareholder of various start-ups, including mytoys, Xing, Pixelpark and Facebook. In 1999, Heilmann was appointed honorary internet spokesman for the CDU by Angela Merkel . From 2009 to 2017 he was Deputy State Chairman of the Berlin CDU, since 2013 he is district chairman of the CDU Steglitz-Zehlendorf. In 2012, Heilmann became Senator for Justice and Consumer Protection in the State of Berlin. In the 2017 general election, Thomas Heilmann ran in Steglitz-Zehlendorf and won his constituency. Since then, he has been a member of the German Bundestag.
