Event description

Description

China is one of the world’s newer and most challenging markets. With its huge population and potential spending power, it is a power to be reckoned with.

China presents a number of challenges, especially for smaller brands, chief amongst them being trademark squatting and the lack of an established route into the market for most companies but some progress is being made.

Towards the end of 2017 China began to reduce some import tax tariffs trying to open up the market for some brands.

If you are considering China for your business, this is the ideal opportunity to hear the latest market knowledge and equip yourself with tips and insights on how to navigate the market from industry and market experts, including designers and manufacturers who have experience in doing business with China.

Key topics include:

• How the Chinese market works
• Ecommerce –different selling platforms
• Trademarking your brand – avoiding Trademark Squatting
• Understanding the Chinese consumer
• Pricing
• Working with agents and distributors
• The role of trade shows and fashion weeks in China and around the world

Speakers include:

Laurian Davies - UKFT (Roundtable Chair)
Lexie Morris - British Consulate General, Shanghai
Mike Bastin - Winchester School of Arts, Southampton University
