Procurement Matchmaking: With the supervision of the Weifang Preparatory Committee, the Weifang Economic and Information Commission will organize meetings between exhibitors and purchasers of the Smart Manufacturing and Electronics Expo and the Energy-saving and New Energy Expo; the Weifang Bureau of Agriculture will organize meetings between exhibitors and purchasers of the Modern Agriculture and Food Safety Expo; the Weifang Bureau of Civil Affairs will organize meetings between exhibitors and purchasers of the Healthcare and Beauty Industry Expo; and the Weifang Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film and Press will organize meetings between exhibitors and purchasers of the Cultural and Creative Industries Expo.

2. One-on-One Business Matchmaking Meeting: With the supervision of the Weifang Preparatory Committee, the Weifang Bureau of Commerce will organize the meeting.

Introcuction to expo

The China-Japan-Korea Industries Expo 2016 will be held from September 23 to 25 , 2016 at the Shandong-Taiwan Convention and Exhibition Center in Weifang,China. This exposition is jointly sponsored by China Chamber of International Commerce, the Association for the Promotion of International Trade,Japan,Korea Trade Associations and Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, in order to deeply promote the comprehensive cooperation among the three countries in the fields of economy, trade and culture etc.

Aiming at promoting the establishment of China, Japan and Korea Free Trade Zone and trilateral cooperation among the three countries, and under the principles of “basing on three countries, opening to the world and pursing mutual benefits”, the expo will create a unique innovative, multi-field and fully functional regional economic cooperation platform by the use of its advantages in location, resources, and policies. This exposition will be served as an incubator for enhancing commodity trade, two-way investments, technological and cultural exchanges, etc. It will also build a multi-field cooperation platform for the three countries and the entire world.

Results of China, Japan and ROK Industries Expo 2015

1Basic facts

With "openness, cooperation and win-win" as its theme, the expo emphasized the professional, international, branding and informatization trends. It highlighted the functions of display and trade, ensured the actual trade and enhanced the expo's influence. The expo consisted of two parts: displays and supporting events.

1. Expo and Exhibitors. The expo had an indoor area of 40,000 square meters (with about 20,000 square meters actually used) and an outdoor area of 8,000 square meters. It attracted 2,120 exhibitors from home and abroad who applied 5,223 booths. Of them, there were 2,696 standard ones and 226 special ones that covering an area of 22,743 square meters (equaling 2,527 standard ones). Of the exhibitors, 567 were from Japan and Korea, and they applied 1,486 standard booths (778 standard ones and 59 special ones equaling 708 standard ones). The expo attracted 4,364 purchasers and 11,638 professional visitors. Of them 378 purchasers and 823 professional visitors were from overseas.

2. Supporting Events. There were seven such events that cover trade and investment, industrial cooperation, technological promotion and business matchmaking. They were East Asia Trade and Investment Facilitation Forum;China,Japan and ROK Business Procurement Matchmaking Forum;China,Japan and ROK Modern Agriculture Cooperation Forum;China,Japan and ROK Technology Cooperation and High-tech Result Promotion;China,Japan and ROK Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Forum;China,Japan and ROK Healthcare Industry Forum; and China,Japan and ROK Business Cooperation Signing Ceremony. A number of officials, businessmen and experts were invited, including top leaders from the WCO as well as the expo's organizers and supporters, leaders and experts from the China Chamber of International Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the General Administration of Customs, the China Association of Port-Of-Entry, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, entrepreneurs from Samsung, Panasonic, JFE and TCL, general consuls of Japanese and ROK's consulates in Qingdao, as well as experts from Chinese and overseas economic organizations, institutes of scientific research and development as well as universities. Their presence showed the event was a top-notch, professional, authoritative and academic one and brought about the outcome of promoting the expo with expos.

2Features and Results

1. It was a large-scale event with a big number of exhibitors, showing high degree of internationalization. Giving priority to large, overseas, tech-based production businesses, the organizing committee selected 579 out of 2,120 applicants as exhibitors. A total of 332 were from 14 countries and regions, accounting for 57.3 percent of the total, about 3 times the average of international expos. Exhibitors from the overseas had 1,066 booths, taking 56.5 percent of the total at the event. The expo attracted about 20,000 exhibitors, purchasers, suppliers and professional visitors from 17 Chinese municipalities and provinces and 41 countries and regions. The three-day event saw 100,177 visits (as recorded by a professional access control system). There were delegates fromJapan's Wakayama prefecture, Muko city and Yachimata city.

2. High-level and influential participants. A total of 27 Fortune 500 companies attended the expo, making it a globally first-class event. Toyota, Nissan, Honda, NEC, JFE, Suzuki, Mitsui, Itochu and Sumitomo from Japan, Samsung, Lotte, Hyundai and Kia from South Korea as well as Bayer, Shell, Louis Dreyfus, 3M, Caterpillar, Metro and Schneider from Europe and the US presented their latest products at special booths, thus helping improved the expo's level and expanded its influence. The event also featured high-level participants. A total of 105 leaders from international organizations, overseas guests and Chinese officials above the vice-department level were invited to attend the expo.

3. The expo's theme was in line with development trends in East Asia and thus helped countries in the region enhance mutual understanding and deepen pragmatic cooperation. The expo had several supporting forums of which the themes were in line with current development trends and demands of the East Asia as a whole. For example, participants shared their views on the process and status quo of trade and investment facilitation in East Asia as well as challenges and prospects, talked about international cooperation and institutional innovation in modern agriculture, discussed safety and international cooperation in food and agricultural products, and exchanged views about environmental protection, healthcare as well as young people's starting their businesses and realizing their dreams. They conducted in-depth and extensive exchanges over issues concerning their development and practical benefits, reached a broad consensus, and opened up new opportunities for parties concerned to learn from and complement each other, conduct practical cooperation and push forward new development.
