Description

A panel of experts will reflect on how China’s opening of its financial sector made the country a powerhouse in global finance, and current foreign competition amid growing trade tensions. A reception will be held after the event.

Panel:

  • Anne Sue Tay, Director, China and RMB Internationalisation, HSBC
  • David Dollar, Senior Fellow, John L. Thornton China Center, Brookings Institution
  • Victor Shih, Professor, UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy

This event is followed by a full-day conference on Saturday, Feb. 9 at UC San Diego. Tickets can be purchased here.

Location: School of Global Policy and Strategy Gardner room (directions). Closest parking will be at the Pangea Parking Structure (Pangea Drive at N. Torrey Pines Rd.) A parking permit is required and can be purchased at the pay stations. There will also be signage to direct attendees from the structure to the event venue.
