Event description
Join us on November 16th for this spectacular event that serves as our way to say "Thank You" to all of our champions for our local children

About this Event

On October 10, 2018, the Florida Panhandle was hit by Hurricane Michael, the first storm of this magnitude to make it's way to this part of Florida's Gulf Coast in 23 years. Foster homes, child care centers, group homes, schools, and many other spaces that are usually a vision of safety and security for children were severely damaged; some were wiped off the map completely. The children of the panhandle needed help and the teams within the various organizations that make up the children's services system of care put their own issues aside to help. Many organizations had boots on the ground as soon as 4-days after the storm; they were locating children, assessing damage to homes, working to reopen child care centers, and seeing how they can continue to care for these children in need. These people are truly champions for our children! Not all heroes wear capes; some teach, some protect, but they all wear their heart on their sleeve.

At this event, we would like to recognize those champions and heroes for their tireless efforts in helping the children in the Panhandle recover from this devastating event. There will be several chances to win prizes in our "Price is Right" style game, gift bags for all workers who come to the event, activities and a play area for children, and we will have Feeding the Gulf Coast's mobile pantry there to provide grocery items for up to 400 families.

Join us on November 16th for this spectacular event that serves as our way to say "Thank You" to all of our champions for our local children.
