Developing a discipleship and mission culture within the church occurs when the core
leaders and the core ministries of the church are both moving in one unified direction.
Often what happens, however, is that leaders and ministries have different approaches,
philosophies, and visions of what the future looks like. While common, this splintered
reality of ministry silos and direction further undermines the already difficult task of
transitioning a church into a robust and healthy culture of discipleship and mission.
What would it look like if the core leaders of your church, along with the adult ministries,
youth ministries, and children ministries were moving in the same direction, had a
common vision, common discipleship strategy, used the same language, the same tools,
and the same vehicles of mission? Every year that goes by where the core ministries
of the church are fragmented and moving in different directions is another year of lost
opportunity for accelerated traction.
To expand on these thoughts read this post.
Investing a discipleship and mission culture into the Children ministry is one of the most
strategic places to invest because of how many people it reaches. Think of how many are
affected: adult leaders of the children ministry, all the kids of your church who are at their
most impressionable age, and many of the parents of these kids as they try to live out the
calling of stewarding their families.
Mike and Sally Breen have decades of experience implementing a discipleship and mission
strategy within the family, and over the last few years 3DM has been innovating its
principles and tools in the children and family arena to make available specifically for
churches. This has created a very strategic way for churches to invest these principles into
the drinking water of both families and children ministries.
During this workshop you will experience the following:
• Be introduced to 3DM’s children ministry curriculum called Kairos Quest
• Experience a live Kairos Quest Sunday morning environment in the evening
• Gain a vision for greater ministry alignment for your church in the arena of
discipleship and mission
• Receive training on how to contextualize the 3DM toolkit with elementary kids
• Learn how children ministry teams can transition into a missional community
environment as they invest in kids
• Learn how to disciple your children ministry leaders rather than simply recruiting
• Develop a strategy for training parents to disciple and huddle their kids
This Children Ministry Workshop will take place at Grace Gathering Church where
the leaders have been utilizing Kairos Quest for two years with parents, kids, and their
children ministry teams. You will experience teaching, discussion, breakout time with your
team, a chance to experience Huddles, and see Kairos Quest in action with kids in a live
environment. We intentionally limit the attendance for a workshop to 200 people so you
have a lot of access to 3DM's team.
Who should attend? Senior leaders, key children ministry leaders, and influential
elementary age parents of the church.
