Children’s Edible Container Garden Project 5/4/2013
Event Information
Description
Forest Park Community Garden is hosting a Children’s Edible Container Garden Project!
Parents and kids! Join us on Saturday, May 4th 2-4 pm at the Community Garden (located on the northwest corner of Harlem Ave and the I-290 interchange) for a children's container garden activity. Bring your own food safe plastic recycled container such as plastic salad greens containers, milk jugs and larger plastic beverage bottles, and we'll help make Mom or Grandma a special Mother’s Day edible garden gift. FPCG will also provide a selection of recycled containers for kids to choose from if they can't bring something from home. We'll provide soil, plants, seeds and some decorating supplies.
Cost: Free! RSVP preferred to guarantee enough containers and seedlings!
Parking: We encourage walking or biking over to the garden, but if you drive to the event please park on one of the nearby sidestreets, such as Elgin Ave, Jackson Blvd or Marengo Ave. After parking, you can access the garden by using the alley behind the 600 S. block of Elgin Ave. There is no parking at the community garden! Parking in the alley adjacent to the garden is never allowed.
Everyone is invited! No prior affiliation with the Community Garden is required.
Rain location: Lower level Forest Park Public Library
