Children's Creativity: What's The Big Whoop?
Scandinavia House, Park Avenue and 38th Street, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Join us for our second annual forum in celebration of National Arts for Learning Week. Guest expert Shirley Brice Heath will increase our understanding of what children learn through art-making and how their creativity can impact whole neighborhoods.
Shirley is a linguistic anthropologist who currently teaches at Stanford University and is also a guest lecturer at King's College at the University of London.
Young Audiences New York welcomes our friends from corporations, education, youth development, community organizations and the arts to join us as we mine insights for action in the year ahead.
The National Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week is an annual week-long advocacy event. During YA Week, the YA network focuses its combined efforts to raise awareness for arts-in-education around the country. This year, YA Week will be celebrated by the entire network of 30 Young Audiences affiliates in 22 states with arts integrated programming and special events in schools and community venues.
Presented by Young Audiences New York, in partnership with Young Audiences Arts for Learning.
