Children Together is proud to present:

Critical Communication Skills in Action

Presented by Anne Overcash, M.Ed.

Busy children in bustling settings create exciting times! Everyone has a different learning style, which is one of the reasons working with young learners is so vibrant.

The use of visual strategies helps us, as adults, stay organized and move efficiently throughout our day. How many times a day do you check your “schedule?” Of course, these come in different varieties: the family calendar in the kitchen (or favorite calendar app) or checking the time on a clock when you know something important is happening soon.

Enhancing visuals can help all learners, including those with special needs, navigate their busy world more easily and with less frustration. A day with a few less outbursts and smooth transitions is a win for everyone. We will explore strategies for smooth transitions, choice making and learning to wait through group discussion, video and hands-on experiences.

Participants will learn concrete strategies for immediate use with all children in a variety of settings.
