Event description
This event will offer information on anxiety and worry in children and how you can support them.

About this Event

It is common for children to worry but it can be tricky to spot what is appropriate worry and when a child may be struggling to manage their worries. This talk is designed to help parents and those working with children, to identify anxiety in children and become familiar with common signs and symptoms. Importantly, we will discuss some useful tips regarding how you might support a child. It can be daunting to know how to support a child who is anxious, there is so much information about what to do, which makes us feel even more unsure of ourselves. This is why we are delivering this talk, providing factual information to help you understand what your child is experiencing and also evidence-based techniques that you can use to support them.

This event is is hosted by Newry Therapy Centre, specifically by Dr Jemma McGourty and Edel Quinn. Jemma is a chartered psychologist, BACP registered CBT therapist and is a lecturer of psychology with the Open University and Dundalk Institute of Technology. Similarly, Edel is BACP registered CBT therapist and is also a specialist autism trainer and is a lecturer with Mary immaculate College co-designing and delivering their Postgraduate in Autism.

We look forward to meeting you soon at our talk
