This course is offered as an all day course FEE COVERS BOTH THE EXPECTANT MOTHER AND A SUPPORT PERSON. Expectant parents are encouraged to take this course during the sixth or seventh month of pregnancy. Course discussion includes the process of labor and delivery, the coach's role, breathing and relaxation techniques, pain management options and Cesarean childbirth. This course also includes newborn characteristics, newborn care, infant CPR and the post-partum (after delivery) period. A tour of the Women's Center and Transition nursery will be provided as part of the course. Parents will have the opportunity to practice basic baby care procedures such as: swaddling, diapering, and sponge bathing.
A non-refundable payment of $50.00 per couple is required at the time of registration. If you have Medicaid, your health insurance provider may pay for this class or a member of the Nurse-Family Partnership Program, please call the Education Department at (801) 807-7093 for the Discount Code when registering. You will need to bring a copy of your insurance card to class.
