Childbirth Education at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital

THIS FIVE-WEEK SERIES BEGINS WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2019 AND RUNS THROUGH DECEMBER 11.

HOURS: 6-8 PM

The Childbirth Education Series is designed for the mother-to-be and support persons.

Topics to be discussed are: an overview of labor and birth, pain relief methods, Cesarean section information, comfort measures, newborn care, hospital policies and procedures, postpartum care, bathing your infant, formula preparation and much more. An optional Breastfeeding Basics class will be offered at the end of each series.

(Women should start attending by 30 to 34 weeks of pregnancy in order to ensure completion of the series.)

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ASK YOU TO BRING A PILLOW AND BLANKET OR YOGA MAT FOR THE FIRST TWO CLASSES WE WILL BE WORKING ON THE FLOOR DOING BREATHING AND PUSHING TECHNIQUES.
