Childbirth Class April 5 - May 10
Wed, Apr 5, 2017, 6:30 PM – Wed, May 10, 2017, 8:30 PM EDT
Our Lamaze childbirth classes will help you feel informed, prepared, and confident about your upcoming birth. It is a 6-class series - 2 more than most hospital classes because we cover things in more depth, and there is more of a focus on pain management skills and we devote a whole class to postpartum and life after baby. My classes are small and personal, chocked full of information but with plenty of time for questions and discussion. And they’re fun!
In a comfortable atmosphere, you'll learn about how labor begins, the process of labor and birth, and most importantly physical and emotional coping strategies. There is plenty of time for practice and discovering ways to individualize the comfort measures. We'll cover how towrite a birth plan, medical interventions, pain medications and cesarean birth, with the emphasis being on what you need to know to make informed decisions.
Unlike most other birth classes, a whole class will be devoted to how to survive life with a newborn, including recovery from birth, tips and tricks, and how to keep your relationship strong during those crucial first days and weeks.
Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. The cost for the 6-class series is $230 per couple. Most insurance companies pay a portion of the fee – just check with them to see what kind of paperwork you need. Classes usually fill so early registration is recommended.
