As part of the Lakewood Police Department's Continuing Education Program we are pleased to announce, a new course Child Sexual Abuse: Identifying Perpetrators and Creating a Safe Environment In Your Youth-Serving Organization.
This event is open to the public.
Ralston House child advocacy center will present on the dynamics of sexual abuse, examine common behaviors of those who perpetrate sexual abuse on young children, and help youth-serving organizations and parents set up safeguards to help keep children safe.
Presenter is Don Moseley, who has been the Executive Director of Ralston House since 2006. Ralston House, with locations in Arvada and Lakewood, is the only child advocacy center Colorado’s First Judicial District, serving Jefferson and Gilpin Counties.
Ralston House is a child-friendly, neutral environment where police detectives, caseworkers, therapists and medical professionals can talk with children and their families in surroundings that lessen the anxiety of a child who has been assaulted. Ralston House served more than 850 children in 2011 with forensic interviews, medical examinations and victim advocacy.
