America’s child poverty rate, currently at 22 percent—highest in the developed world—is one of our nation’s gravest problems. Fortunately, we know what tools work when it comes to combating child poverty. The question is, why aren’t we using them?
On January 22, the Bernard L. Schwartz Rediscovering Government Initiative, run by Jeff Madrick, will bring together two panels of policy experts, scholars, and pediatricians to discuss two of these specific tools, cash allowances and Medicaid, and how to implement them.
