Event description

Description

A seat at this session could save a life.

Hennepin Healthcare has been a Level 1 Trauma Center for Children and Adults for 30 years. We are not only committed to the highest level of trauma care, but to the prevention of life-changing injuries. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury related deaths for people ages 1-40 years. The correct use of car seats is the most effective intervention to prevent these injuries and deaths for children. In this Here4Health session Trauma Prevention Specialist, Dr. Julie Philbrook, RN, DNP will discuss the 4 steps of child passenger safety. This interactive session will also include a hands-on car seat installation practice station. Participants’ names will be entered into a drawing for free booster seat.

Topics covered will include:
When can a child transition to a forward facing seat?
When can they change to a booster seat? At what point can a child stop using a booster seat?
When can an older child sit in the front seat?
