Child life and pediatric healthcare professionals are invited to join the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy Department at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for a day-and-a-half conference focused on comprehensive and collaborative care.

Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016; 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The conference will feature a keynote address from pain management expert Amy Baxter, MD, creator of Buzzy®, a drug-free pain-relief device.
Attendees will have the opportunity to select individual breakout sessions to customize their learning experience. Sessions will focus on the multi-disciplinary approach to care at CHOP. Topics to include:
- Programming ideas
- Emergency department practices
- Bereavement interventions
- Professional enhancement experiences
Attendees will receive nine (9) professional development units covering all domains for ACLP recertification (assessment, interventions and professional responsibility).
- Opportunities to network with child life professionals
- A tour of the Hospital facility
- Friday evening social to meet CHOP's Child Life Department staff
Conference registration is limited to 120 attendees, so be sure to sign up early!
The registration fee is $175 for the full conference, or $125 for one day (Friday). Registration fee includes:
- Complimentary parking for conference days at the Hospital
- Continental breakfast Friday and Saturday
- Lunch on Friday
- Friday evening social with beverages and hors d’oeuvres
- Tour of the Hospital facility
A block of rooms has been reserved for conference participants at a discounted rate at the Sonesta Hotel at 1800 JFK Blvd. Room rate per night is $169 plus taxes. Registration deadline is Sept. 30, 2016. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cancellation and refund policy: The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reserves the right to cancel or postpone the workshop due to any unforeseen circumstances. If you wish to withdraw from the workshop, please send a cancellation email by Sept. 30, 2016, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the event of cancellation, postponement, or withdrawal, CHOP will refund any registration fees, less a $15 service charge. No refunds will be issued after Sept. 30, 2016.
Parking and transportation
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is located in the West Philadelphia area of the city. It is easily accessible by mass transit as well as major highways. If driving, please park at the Main Campus in the Wood Garage. Parking passes for complementary parking will be provided. Please follow the signs for the Child Life Conference to the Colket Building. The conference registration will be in the Colket Lobby area and sessions held in Colket, Room 1200 A & B.
