9:00 am Session 1: Understanding the Theory of Cognitive Development

Description: To engage in activities and discussions to assist in supporting Cognitive Development in an Early Childhood Environment. The Cognitive system is made up of three parts: functioning, structure and development. Language development is an important part of cognitive development. Trainer will talk about Piaget’s Theory which states that the child uses his or her mind in different ways in each period of development. Information will be provided on “Supporting Cognitive Development and Physical Development.”

12:30 pm Session 2: Early Childhood is a Time of Rapid Physical Development

Description: To engage in activities and discussions relating to physical play which includes activities that use physical movements to allow children to use their energy, and it gives children the chance to develop gross and fine motor skills, learn new things and socialize. Physical play also benefits a child's health. Understanding the importance of physical play is vital to children development.
