Event Details

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

On behalf of the Conference Commission on Child Advocacy, I am delighted to invite you to participate in our next Child Advocacy Training Event!

Each training participant will receive a copy of the Commission’s Child Advocacy Report (presented at the 2015 Annual Conference),a workbook, demographic data, and other materials essential for Child Advocacy work (and networking) in your region.

The training will provide each participant with the tools to:

  • Understand the current state of well-being of Pennsylvania’s children and youth;
  • Discover, understand, and use regional demographics to develop advocacy action plans;
  • Engage in two of five afternoon seminars, which will equip participants to sharpen their demographic skills; create effective networks and advocacy partnerships; understand the role of the local church in advocacy ministries; develop youth ministry initiatives; and grasp the family related issues facing young people today; and
  • Begin preparation for establishing a regional Advocacy Team.

As our Child Advocacy Report revealed, more than 670,000 Pennsylvania children, youth, and their families are living on the margins of our communities. It is our job to prepare Advocates who can assist our congregations in reaching these households while fulfilling our missional mandate for Christ and the Church. It is not too much to say that the lives of hundreds of thousands of our children and young people are depending upon our faithful and fruitful discipleship. Together we do make a difference in their world and ours, too.

Thank you for your commitment,

The Commission on Child Advocacy
Rev. Dr. G. Edwin Zeiders, Chairman
