The Yellow Door is virtually hosting the 10th Annual Chico Walks for Autism (The Mulligan Year).

The restrictions on the event size and park use have made our traditional meeting not possible. After considering all the options, we have decided to take the whole month for the event!

What does this mean?

We will hold our shirt pick-up March 29th from 4-6 pm & March 30th from 10-12 pm at LRT Graphics.

You will then have the month of April (also autism acceptance/ awareness month) to walk by yourself, or with others on any day and time you choose. Post your walk pictures on social media using the #chicowalksforautism2021 hashtag

This is your opportunity to show your support for individuals with autism in our community and their families. This is our 10th annual event, and in the nine years, we have raised over $100,000 to give back to the community.

In the last two years, The Yellow Door has sponsored the following events from the money generated by the walk:

1. $30,000 dollars in emergency funds to families for COVID related support and relief
2. The Yellow Door Care is a donation account for Families and Individuals on the Autism Spectrum in need of support with housing, medical bills, food, and those other "life emergencies" that our community frequently deals with. Since March 2016, the YDC has helped over 40 families.
3. Northern California Autism Symposium. The Yellow Door sponsored educators and other autism professionals to attend this third annual event.
4. Durham Parks and Recreation Autism Summer Swim Program
