Chicks with Bricks is a fundraiser benefitting Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Habitat. Located at Legend Brewing Co., this is your opportunity to taste just how good Richmond beer can be! For the non-beer lovers, there will be several wines on hand to sample and savor, along with a selection of light hors d'oeuvres to please the palate.
The event will take place on the outdoor deck, overlooking the James River and the skyline of Richmond. And a party wouldn't be as fun without some music to set the mood!DJ mFace will be onsite providing musical entertainment.
Chicks with Bricks is a fundraiser supporting National Women Build Week, which encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. The program seeks to encourage women volunteers to further the home-building mission of Habitat for Humanity. Women Build is not about excluding anyone. It is about including women and opening new doors of opportunity.
Since Women Build’s official creation in 1998, Women Build volunteers have constructed more than 1,600 homes around the world. In 2009, volunteers helped build an additional 252 Women Build houses. Here in Richmond, women will take over our Habitat for Humanity construction sites to help build eight new homes, learn construction skills and become advocates of decent, affordable housing for all.
Any and every one is invited to come out and join us on May 1st for a great night of beer and wine tasting. Together, we can raise a glass to help Richmond families achieve the dream of home ownership!
