Intrigue, murder, and all that jazz. The longest-running American musical in Broadway history, Chicago is based on a 1926 play about actual criminals and features the work of legends John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse.
Roxie Hart is sent to prison for killing a man who tried to walk out on her. While in prison she meets Velma Kelly, a big-time vaudeville star with twice as much blood on her hands. The two merry murderesses vie for the same lawyer, Billy Flynn, a slick razzle dazzler, to help win their freedom and play the public from prison to help win fame for when they’re finally free.
