Illinois Science Council invites all to its first ever Chicago Science Festival — a celebration of the mind-expanding, society-improving, human-benefitting awesomeness that is science research in the Chicago area.
Full details about the programs and presenters are here. This page is just where you buy your tickets.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Chase Tower and National Museum of Health+Medicine are easily accessible by CTA; a few blocks walk max from a train station. NOTE: The Merchandise Mart has a Brown Line CTA stop, but it will be closed for construction on Saturday. :-( Details are here. If coming from the north on Brown, just take the free shuttle bus from Fullerton. Leave yourself some extra time to be safe. The #22 and #36 buses stop couple blocks east of the Mart on Clark St. For other options, check http://www.transitchicago.com/
There is a DIVVY bike stand on the west side of the Merchandise Mart on Orleans St., says the Divvy Map
Meter parking is limited on the street, but garages (although not cheap) are plentiful. Closest garage to Merchandise Mart is at corner of Kinzie & Wells. Sorry, we cannot offer parking discounts.
When you get in the building, go toward front/south entrance (on the river side) and use central elevator bank to go to 12th floor. Both 1871 and MATTER are on 12th floor.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Events are open to all ages. However, no one under age 21 will be allowed alcohol at any of the receptions. Any minor doing so will be arrested, and even worse - banned from ISC events for life.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
If you have a question that really isn't covered here or on the main event page (here), email us at info@IllinoisScience.org. If it is answered somewhere on the site, we may be slow to respond.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Tickets (your registration because we don't do paper tickets) are not refundable. If you find you can't make it, you can give your registration to another. To do so you must email to info@IllinoisScience.org, at least 24 hours prior to the event, the name and email of the original registration and the name and email of the person it's being transferred to.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, on the registration page up to 24 hours in advance of the event you registered for.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, please don't. We won't take it or even look at it. We don't believe in wasting paper/trees when electrons in a computer will do.
What is the refund policy?
Tickets (your registration because we don't do paper tickets) are not refundable. If you find you can't make it, you can give your registration to another. See above for transferring your registration.
