Event description

Description

Thank you for your interest in being a Chicago Scholars College Access & Success Mentor!

The Chicago Scholars Mentoring Program pairs our Scholars with adult mentors from across the city of Chicago. Mentors serve as important guides to our first-generation and under-resourced youth as they tackle the college admissions process in their senior year of high school and the transition to their freshman year of college.

The Mentoring Open House event is the first step in the application process to become a mentor. This event is geared towards providing you information about our mentorship program, what it means to be a Chicago Scholars mentor, and what the mentor application process entails.

**These New Mentor Open Houses will be held virtually. Please RSVP and details for the virtual open house will be emailed to you prior to the event.

  • 5:45- 6:00 pm - Log in and chat with the Chicago Scholars Mentoring Team

  • 6:00-7:00 pm - Presentation to learn more about becoming a mentor!

Following the open house, you'll be invited to complete our application to be a mentor. This application will ask for your contact information, your educational background, why you want to become a mentor, and also for your references. The process continues with an interview and a background check prior to training and being matched with students.

We would love to have you be a part of the team. If you have further questions visit Chicagoscholars.org/mentors or email GetInvolved@ChicagoScholars.org

Looking forward to meeting you!
