UPDATED 12/8/2016 W/ BARS:
Santas! Our schedule for Saturday is below. All bars are accessible via the Logan Square and California Blue Line stops, as well as 76 and 74 buses. Otherwise please take a Lyft. Once you're here all bars all walkable
DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Santa's are kind and funny and helpful and fun-spirited. We don't want to give any cops any reason to put Santa in jail.
Santa Katie will be available to answer any questions and help wrangle the group to the next bar.
With that said, here are the bars:
12:00pm Harding Tavern (2732 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago)
12:45pm Parts and Labor
2:30pm Rocking Horse
7:00pm Slippery slope (dancing till we can't dance no mo')
If along the route a particular bar suits you, feel free to hang out longer, or skip ahead to the next one. Santacon is all about making friends and being joyous, so if you notice any stragglers, we're sure Santa would appreciate if Santa let them know where the group is headed.
The day of the event be sure to take lots of pictures and upload using the hashtag #ChicagoSantaCon.
If you have any questions, feel free to write in the comments or message Santa directly.
Cheers and Beers,
Grab your chestnuts and jingle your bells, because Santa's back, along with all his mischief-making friends.
That's right, Santacon is coming to town, right in his merry 'ole home of Chicago's Logan Square.
Join a whole host of Santas, Mrs. Clauses, and all manifestations of merry-positive debauchery as we embark on the annual creative event born over 20+ years ago in San Francisco.
What is SantaCon? Think of it like a Santa themed flashmob/bar crawl, where friends and strangers can meet, mingle, and make merry. Any variation on Santa or holiday themed attire is a must! Be creative! Music, bikes, the like are all encouraged! Think Burning Man for the holidays (Burning Man was actually started by the same people who startedSantaCon for you history buffs).
As always, this event is FREE. But good cheer, holiday treats, etc. are always welcome!
This should give you a pretty good idea of what SantaCon can look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWZKbXxTwYA
Remember to be courteous to the bar staff and try to bring cash - it'll make it easier for everyone involved.
Be responsible for your drinking. These are some weird times, but absolutely no forms of harassment will be tolerated. All shapes, sizes, colors, genders, and species are welcome.
Remember, SantaCon is about celebrating positive, creative, inclusive fun, and above all: Santa isn't a dick.
