Description

Purpose: This program provides an opportunity for physicians who work in the field of occupational and environmental medicine to learn the newest developments in medicine related to the workplace or community. The program is designed to pro-vide updates on current issues in occupational and environmental health. Speakers present research topics, literature reviews, health policy analysis, and case studies. Participation in this program gives the participants information on topics that af-fects their care of individual patients and their advice to government industry. The program focuses on the major topics that are commonly seen by physicians in workplace.

Audience: Occupational medicine physicians, emergency medicine physicians, internists, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists.

Mitchell Sheinkop MD is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon in Chicago, IL and Des Plaines, IL. He is also a former director of the joint replacement program and Professor Emeritus at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Sheinkop is a leading authority on the treatment of patients with complex hip and knee disorders. In addition, he is well known for his pioneering use of computer-assisted navigation, minimally invasive technologies and hip resurfacing techniques.

Title: An Objective Review of the Evidence Basis of PRP and Stem Cell injections for orthopedic problems.

Gap:” As the amount of published trials within the field of stem cell research is fast growing, and more clinics are offering stem cell treatments,36 we believe patients will soon present themselves to regular care practices with questions about stem cell treatment.
