1. When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets will go on sale August 28, 2013 at 8:00am.

2.  How many tickets can I purchase?
Just one, which is good for two people.

3. What does the cost of the ticket include? Why is it $55?
The #1 bit of feedback we've received over the years was that carrying tables and chairs to our event can prove difficult. This year, we are delighted to announce there will be no more schlepping! We will be providing tables, white chairs, and white tablecloths for all guests, on-site.

4. I bought a ticket to your 2012 event. Am I guaranteed a seat at the 2013 "Chicago in White"?
You will receive an access code via email that will guarantee a ticket for you, although the code is only active for a limited amount of time.

5. I was on the waiting list for your 2012 event. Am I guaranteed a seat at the 2013 "Chicago in White"?
You will receive an access code via email that will guarantee a ticket for you, although the code is only active for a limited amount of time.

6. How do I get on your 2013 waiting list?
Waiting list registration will open once the initial offering of tickets is sold out.

7. Are tickets transferable? Refundable?
Tickets are not refundable, but they are transferable until 6pm on Sunday, September 15th. Please contact to start the transfer process.  After September 15th, tickets are not transferable and not refundable.

8. My friend wants me to buy a ticket for them.
That's very nice of you! Please use their name, phone number, and address when purchasing. All personal information on the order form must match the ticket holder's ID. You will be asked to show your ID at check-in.

9. I want to sit with my friends!
Certainly! You can either choose the same Harmoinzation Point as them and arrive at the location together, or you can wait for them at the Rendezvous Zone at the location. You will be told the exact location of the Rendezvous Zone on the night of the event.

1. Where is Chicago in White held?
The event's location is kept secret until 4:30pm on September 22nd. You will learn the secret location after you arrive at your Harmonization Point!

2. What is a Harmonization Point? A Head of Table (HOT)?
A Harmonization Point is a check-in point (typically an L station) where you will meet your Head of Table (a small group leader) prior to departing for the secret location as a group, via public transportation. You will be assigned an HOT based on the Harmonization Points you select during the ticket buying process. You may contact your HOT at their email address, which will be given to you (along with your Harmonization Point assignment) on approximately September 6th.

3. Is CIW accessible for those with mobility concerns?
Yes.  As indicated during your ticket purchase, a special Harmonization Point was created for our guests who have mobility concerns.  If you did not select this Harmonization Point, please contact for more details, or to change your Harmonization Point. The CIW event site is fully accessible.

4. In the case of inclement weather will there be a rain date?
Chicago in White happens RAIN or SHINE!  White umbrellas can be purchased online or in local stores.  If it looks like there may be inclement weather, dress appropriately — it may be the most fun you've ever had!

5. Can I bring alcohol?
You may not bring alcohol from home.

6. Are picnic baskets available for advance purchase? What about wine and flowers?
As of Sunday, 9/15 at 11:59pm our online shop is closed.

7. What else should I bring?
Guests must bring the following items from home, and adhere to the code of dress and conduct. Advice on where to buy supplies and clothing will be periodically posted on our Facebook page.

  • Food
Although we will be dining al fresco, please keep the elegant spirit of the event in mind. Whether you bring a splendid creation from home or purchase one of our baskets, plan to enjoy an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Your food does not have to be white!
  • Garbage bags
You must bring your own white trash bag and dispose of any waste at home (not at garbage cans on-site). We leave the site as clean as we found it, with absolutely no evidence of our presence, even in their garbage cans.
  • Tableware
The overall effect of your table should be white, elegant, and chic. A white tablecloth will be provided for you, but feel free to bring battery-operated candles (open flames prohibited) and other charming extras.
  • Dress Code
With the exception of shoes, guests' entire outfit must be white, including pants, shorts, shirts, skirts, dresses, and jackets. Hats and creative attire are permitted, but always with a nod to the elegant and chic nature of the event.
  • Conduct Code
Only the most proper decorum will be tolerated. Guests are expected to show authorities that large groups are capable of incredible deference and respect toward the beauty of the space the event is held, and their fellow diners. In the true tradition of the “flash mob”, guests will sparkle and dazzle, while at the same time the space they occupy remains pristine and unspoiled by the event.
