Chicago Beer Experience Tour
Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 3:00 PM (CDT)
Did you know that in the 1920's, Anheuser-Bush supplied Al Capone with 250,000 beer taps for illegal brewing operations in Chicago? Did you know that from 1978 to 1988 there were NO breweries in Chicago at all?
Do you want to learn more about the history of beer in Chicago? Are you sick of questions? Join CitySwarm on the Chicago Beer Experience tour for an awesome day of drinking and learning! On this three-hour walking tour of north-side Chicago establishments, you will taste 16 beers while learning about Chicago's rich beer history and beer in general.
We'll start at 3:00 PM at Vaughan's Pub, a friendly neighborhood Irish pub where an experienced guide will introduce you to the history of Chicago beer. Next we'll head over to Paddy Long's where we'll combine beer tastings with delicious, delicious bacon. That's right. Bacon. Then, we'll walk a block to Bodega Ramos, a locally-owned beer and wine store for some tastes of their crafts and finally, we'll head over to Delilah's, a punk rock bar located in the middle of conservative Lincoln Ave, for some brews to top off the day's fun.
When the tour is over, you will have learned more about beer than you thought possible! It's just unlikely that you will remember it the next day.
