Event description

Description

Join the Rebuilding Exchange and local macrame Artist, Kenyatta Forbes, for this amazing workshop collaboration to make a hanging planter! In the first part of this workshop, you will learn basic woodworking skills while constructing a planter box out of reclaimed wood. In the second half, Kenyatta will lead participants in creating a beautiful macrame hanger that will attach to the planter box. This is a BYOB, so feel free to bring a bottle of wine or beers to enjoy during the macrame portion of the workshop. Cups and wine/bottle opener provided. Participants bringing alcoholic beverages must be at least 21 years old.

About Kenyatta Forbes

As a self-taught macrame artist, Kenyatta Forbes of Urban Macrame Fibers finds inspiration in color to create original macrame wall art and wall hangings. By using all kinds of fibers and accessories, she makes her one-of-a-kind designs simple, yet striking. When she’s not designing Macrame in her home studio in Chicago, IL, she’s exploring the world traveling looking for inspiration.
