A very popular feature of mobile applications is to provide location
aware display of items on a map.  This presentation will demonstrate
how to develop that important use case by using the familiar example
of garage sales.  Local garage sale information will be retrieved from
a server and displayed on the phone using the Android Google Maps API.

Topics Covered

   * Making HTTP requests to remote server
   * Processing XML
   * Updating a database
   * Displaying items in a list using ListView and a custom Adapter
   * Displaying items on a map using the Google Maps API
   * Allowing the user to interact with items on a map
