Is there any free parking ?

Yes, if you park at Lexington Rd at Loop 10, Athens, GA 30605, GA-10, Athens, GA 30605 there is a park and ride shuttle bus that runs from 7am to 7pm; it will transport you to the lot and back if you do not want to park on the road or parking deck.

Is there paid parking ?

Yes, the best place to park is College Avenue Parking Deck or Washington Street Deck. The rates are  First Hour: Free After the First Hour: $2.00 per hour It is the best way to avoid the $3.00 hourly parking on the streets of Athens, GA.

What is Open Play Chess ?

This means, that it is an opportunity for beginners, intermediate and more to come and play at prepared boards and pieces to socialize, learn and connect with casual players.

Are these events USCF rated ?

Accepted Answer

Chess and Community hosts several events including USCF/FIDE rated games but until March of 2027 the Chess & Pizza will be for casual, not competitive play. If you are interested in out tournaments, contact dave@chessandcommunity.org; check USCF website or request school club at the email above.
