Join Vibrant Seniors Events for a six-night Chesapeake Bay cruise on the American Star! On October 30th, we'll fly from Los Angeles, California to Dulles, Virginia.
We'll enjoy a two nights at the Holiday Inn Capitol Hotel, along with one night tour and one day tour of Washington, DC, visiting most of the monuments. We'll tour the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, opening in Fall 2016. The museum, located on the National Mall, will include history, community, and culture galleries and offer real-time curation of black history as it happens. We'll also visit the Freedom House Museum in Virginia. This building housed the largest domestic slave trading company in the country. Today, this property is owned by the Northern Virginia Urban League, dedicated to preserving history and emancipating, educating, and enlightening the descendents of those once held in bondage.
After our time in the nation's capitol, we'll board the American Star, an 80-passenger cruise ship, to continue our black history tour of the founding of the United States. We'll visit a variety of ports, including Yorktown, Virginia and Tangier Island, Cambridge, Oxford, St. Michaels, and Annapolis, all in Maryland.
We'll return back to Los Angeles on November 5th.
Your tour price ($4,200 for double occupancy or $5,036 for single occupancy) includes:
