Event description

Description

The Marietta Police Department is dedicated to protecting its citizens in every way possible. While our focus is on finding ways to fight and prevent crime, we are also dedicated to find ways to educate and protect our youth. To that end, MPD is involved in protecting children through a program called Rad Kids. Rad Kids is a personal empowerment safety education program which included a 10-hour curriculum for children ages 8-12.

Topics covered include: bully prevention, internet, home, school, vehicle, and outdoor safety. We will also teach them about predator tricks and physical resistance strategies against child abduction. MPD currently has three trained Rad Kids instructors dedicated to helping teach your kids to be safe.

MPD has a class currently scheduled for November. Opening are still available. The cost for this class is $10. Please sign up your own kids or refer us to parents with kids ages 8-12. The dates for this class is:

Every Monday for 5 weeks November 6- December 11, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (We will skip the week of Thanksgiving) The classes will be held at the Cherokee YMCA (201 E. Bells Ferry Rd,Woodstock, GA 30189)

If you have any questions, please contact officer Paul Hill at phill@mariettaga.gov.
