Event description
"No Dogs" is one of the Chelsea Film Festival's official selections for 2021. Virtual screenings will be held on October 14-16 at 6:30 PM

About this event

The short film depicts a 1930 incident that resulted in conflict between Filipino Americans and the Nightriders, a white anti-immigrant group. This is primarily due to the influx of Filipinos into farming employment and the popularity of taxi dance halls. They are also opposed to relationships forming in Central California between Filipino men and white women.

Filipino American Historical Society’s Alex Fabros and Georgina Tolentino co-wrote the short film. The primary story takes place as two people from opposite sides hide out in a diner during the bombing of the Stockton,CA Clubhouse. The story is based on actual events but is a work of fiction.

Moreover, we sincerely request that you help us by purchasing tickets and voting for our short film entry, as we are thrilled to win. After the screening, the filmmakers will be hosting a question and answer session.

By registering, we will be able to determine the number of people who will attend the event. We'll look forward to your registration!
