Join the fastest growing movement in food today- buying local food not only supports our local economy, it brings customers to you. Minnesotan's are increasingly tuned in to where their food comes from- they know that local food makes sense for the environment, our local economy, and the palette.
But where to start? How do you find farmers? How do you plan dishes based on seasonal ingredients? What about rules or laws about buying directly from a farmer?
To answer these questions and more, we have brought together some of the top chefs and knowledgeable experts in the state to share practical tips and resources to help all restaurants and chefs begin successfully using local food in their kitchens.
You will leave this day with the resources you need to start using local food:
Who should come?
Chef and restaurant owners who like the idea of using local ingredients, but have questions about getting started
Any food service professional who wants tools that will help them integrate local food into their menu

We work with restaurant owners, executive chefs, colleges, universities, and other food service professionals to share tools and resources needed to use and promote local food in these establishments.
The Heartland Food Network works to bring local food to chefs and institutions across Minnesota.
