Event Details

Dear Singles, Couples and Families!  Avoid the craziness of Valentine's Day and come the day after, on 2/15, to enjoy a delicious, loving, gluten-free, healthy, organic, gourmet Plant-Based Valentine's meal prepared by Chef Lisa Books-Williams, the reigning Vegan Iron Chef (San Francisco, 2013), at a beautiful complex at the apex of Rincon Hill in San Francisco's SoMa district.  Guests will also enjoy a LIVE musical performance by renowned musician Freddy Clarke. Here is the menu:

Hors d' Oeuvres:

~Tart Cherry Balsamic Port Reduction kissed with fresh Rosemary atop Cacao Coconut Cream Cheese Gluten Free Crostini

~Zucchini Croquettes with Horseradish Beet Aioli (Raw)

Salad:

~Kale Carrot Salad with Cardamom Almond Dressing served with Carrot "Melba" Toasts (Raw)

 Soup: 

~Jerusalem Artichoke Bisque with Crispy Sage Leaves

Appetizer:

~Truffled Cauliflower and Wild Mushroom Stack atop Sauteed Greens

Entree:

~Hazelnut, Grain and Vegetable Stuffed Collard Rolls with Roasted Red Pepper and White Bean Sauce

Desserts:

~Raw-Licious Love Heart with Cacao Mousse, Chocolate Ganache, Coconut Whipped Cream and White Mulberry Cacao Cookie Crumble.  Served with Fresh Berries, Cherry Coulis and a Caramel Nut Tuile (Raw)

~Raw Chocolate Cacao Fountain with Assorted Fruits (and other goodies) (Raw)

~Spiced Rum Soaked Pineapple Spear  (Raw)

Chef Lisa Books-Williams

     Chef Lisa Books-Williams has been sharing the joy of plant-based eating with the SF Bay Area for the last nine years. Lisa has released more than 100 lbs and regained her vitality through healthy eating.  She is the reigning Vegan Iron Chef (San Francisco, 2013), an award-winning raw food chef (Best of Raw NYC 2010) and a certified Green Chef Instructor.      Lisa founded the Tri-Valley Vegetarian Society and hosts regular potlucks, supper clubs and events. Lisa is a popular presenter, contributor, chef and educator and is a featured chef/presenter on eHow.  She presented at and catered the raw vegan dinner at the SFVS World Vegetarian Day festivals in 2010 and 2011. She  personal chefs, teaches 1:1 and small groups privately and caters. She plans to release her first cook and un-cook book in 2014. Lisa co-developed the Plant-Based Diet program for Kaiser Permanente and currently teaches plant-based cooking and Food Preparation classes at the Redwood City Campus. She has taught Kaiser employees and physicians at the Oakland, Daly City and South San Francisco campuses.  She has taught patients and staff at the VA Livermore, VA Menlo Park, Herrick and Laguna Honda Hospitals how to prepare health promoting vegan foods. Additionally, as a nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, she consults at Care Facilities throughout the Bay Area and brings  therapeutic vegan cooking classes and raw/"live" food preparation classes to persons with disabilities in institutionalized care.
