Event Details

Learn to build Chef cookbooks from scratch quickly and easily, using Berkshelf, Vagrant, and Opscode Bento! This session will guide participants through setting up an optimized cookbook development workstation, introduce the Application Cookbook design pattern, and teach participants how to build easy automated integration testing using Chef Minitest.
 
On completion, attendees should be able to create high-quality cookbooks from scratch in no-time, with built-in integration testing!
 
Requirements:
All participants must bring an Apple laptop with the following minimum specifications:
-Multi-core CPU
-At least 4 gigs of RAM, 8 preferred
-OSX 10.7 or later
-No MacPorts Ruby allowed.
 
In addition, all participants MUST have the most recent version of Xcode and the Xcode command line tools installed prior to workshop start.
 
Lunch will be provided. Please email us with any dietary restrictions.
 
*Please note - this is a beta course and we are testing new material, thus we are charging $20 to cover the cost of food for the day.
