Description

Spend a day steeped in the incredibly fascinating world of cheese making with the warm and wonderful Dr. Larry Faillace and his wife Linda from Three Shepherds Farm in Vermont. Kitchen 19 is thrilled to welcome Larry and Linda back to again add this class to its schedule! It gives Philadelphia area students the chance to take advantage of this long-standing tradition that they offer at their family farm as well as the renowned L'Academie de Cuisine cooking school in Bethesda Maryland! The class provides a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn about the art and science of cheese making. A few of the cheeses you will make are feta, ricotta and a chevre-style cheese and samples will be bagged to take home to share with your family! Packed with lots of activity and information, Larry and Linda have designed this class to provide you with the skills you need to make great cheese and to appreciate the complexity of cheeses you already enjoy! You’ll also enjoy lunch and an opportunity to taste and discuss plenty of delicious cheeses. You’ll leave with incredible insight into the process of cheese making and the confidence to make your own, along with a cheese making manual which includes: history of cheese making, techniques, recipes, and much more! And the timing of the class could not be more perfect for people wanting to make their own cheeses for the friends and family at Thanksgiving and the holidays.
