Learn how explicit or implicit biases exist in your teacher recruitment and interview process. This workshop will help you recognize and address biases that are preventing you from hiring new teachers in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive manner:

* Prepare an inclusive job description
* Broaden your sources of talent
* Eliminate unintended biases in the resume review process
* Standardize interview practices


Who is this event for?

K-12 school leaders and recruiters. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels.


Featured speakers

Alexandra Thorson is a former public school teacher, manager for teacher leadership development, and DEI facilitator at Teach for America. She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, and helping schools elevate the leadership within their communities.

Malcolm Davis is the Director of School Support at Selected. He is a former Selection and Outreach Recruiter at Uncommon Schools, Teaching Fellow, and Deputy Campus Director for Citizen Schools. He is also an AmeriCorps alum who is passionate about urban education reform and empowering communities of color.
