Chattanooga Gospel Justice Initiative "Office Hours" Legal Aid Clinic
Event Information
Description
There's help available for individuals with civil legal issues who cannot afford to hire an attorney. Help is also available for military veterans. Trained military advocates are on-site and able to meet with you and offer help.
The clinics are open to anyone with a civil legal issue or question. People interested are advised to email in advance so that a time can be scheduled for your consultation and also resources can be pulled together in advance so that attorneys with an expertise in the specific area of concern can be available to assist.
To make an appointment email: chattanooga@gji.org
Walk-ins are also welcome, but will be served on a first-come basis.
Here is what Chattanooga Gospel Justice Initiative will need from you:
• Any paperwork you want reviewed;
• One-time $30 administrative fee is normally paid as part ofhte application process and goes to support ministry costs. Attorneys volunteer their time and do not receive any compensation.
Here is what you can expect from us:
• An 30-40 minute consultation appointment with a lawyer to assess your need and help you put together a plan to move forward;
• A meeting with a client advocate for referrals and additional support services
• An inviting atmosphere and friendly support team;
- Individual prayer support is also available
• Activities for children if you need to bring them so you can focus on your meeting with the lawyer.
When you arrive we will have paperwork for you to complete to help the lawyer understand the issues and provide the best possible guidance. You will sign a form acknowledging the lawyer is assisting you in this appointment only. Any needed follow-up will be communicated to you along with a specific plan for moving forward. Our team is praying for you and looks forward to seeing you soon.
Each attendee is normally asked to pay an initial $30.00 administrative fee through the Gospel Justice Initiative, which is the national umbrella and a 501(c)3 non-profit ministry, but no other fees will be required to consult with an attorney. A receipt will be provided for administrative fees paid and those monies go to support efforts for the Chattanooga Gospel Justice Initiative. Donations are appreciated and also go to help this ministry.
