Chase the Flavor of Tomatoes with Countryside & Front 9 Farm

Since we are all living in a different world right now and spending more time at home than we may like, why not cook together, learn something new and share a meal with each other? In these uncertain times we are living, food brings people together. Food shifts the dynamic. Food lightens the mood and takes our minds off current events. Food creates community. We can chase the flavor together!

Join Countryside staff via Zoom as we Chase the Flavor of 10-15 different tomato varieties, and prepare a tomato recipe together. We will be joined by Jimmy and Cassondra Myers of Front 9 Farm to answer all of your tomato growing questions. In keeping with tradition, YES, someone will be dressed as a tomato!

How do I get the tomatoes that we'll be tasting?

You can preorder a tomato tasting box for pickup at the Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow on the morning of Saturday, August 15th (limited quantity available) or use a provided list to shop for the tomato varieties yourself at the market. Further details will be emailed to you after you register.

Can I participate if I don't have the tomato varieties being tasted?

Absolutely! If you miss out on a tomato tasting box or don’t live in the area, we still welcome you to join us to learn about tomatoes from our tomato experts and prepare a tomato recipe with a community of people.

What's the cost of the event?

This is a donation based event with a suggested donation of $20, but be one of the first 5 people to donate at the $50 level and receive a farmers’ market starter pack or be one of the first 5 to donate at the $100 level and receive a very special farm tour.

All donations for this event go to supporting the work of Countryside.
