Description

Join ALT Stewardship and Education staff as we try to identify as many different species of animals, plants and fungus as we can. Download the iNaturalist app for your phone or tablet, join the Chartiers Creek Bioblitz Project and head out to record observations. Explore with experts on hikes as we catch and release everything from insects to reptiles, amphibians, fish and maybe even bats! Learn how to use citizen science platforms and more!

9:00 – 11:00 AM Bird Banding with GiGi Gerben

10:00 - 11:00 AM Beautiful Butterflies Hike with Pete Woods of the Western PA Conservancy

10:00 AM - Noon Fun Fungus Hike with the Western PA Mushroom Club

11:00 AM - Noon Gone Electro-fishing with Dr. Brady Porter of Duquesne University

Noon - 1:00 PM Wild Edibles Plant Hike with Blue Heron Nature Skills

2:00 - 4:00 PM Medicinal Plants of Southwestern PA with Blue Heron Nature Skills

5:00 – 6:00 PM Evening Break
