Event description

Description

Mic senior writers Aaron Morrison and Jack Smith IV and Columbia University professor of U.S. history Stephanie McCurry consider the year since a far-right rally surrounding the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, VA revealed a nation’s explosive racism, culminating in violence and homicide. How do we memorialize that fateful day as well as the countless heroes underrepresented in public monuments?
