Join us on Friday, April 17, 2020, for the Charlotte County Provider Education Summit!

  • 8am - 8:30am: Registration & Refreshments
  • 8:30am - 11:45am: Presentations

Presentations include:

  • Adverse Childhood Experiences and Their Impact on Health and Education (Brief Overview) by Dr. Joseph Pepe of the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County
  • Recognition, Diagnosis and Management of Substance Use Disorders in a Primary Care Setting by Dr. Samuel Amen of the Ramos Center for Interventional and Functional Pain Medicine
  • Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems: Informing Your Patients by Dr. Mary Martinasek of The University of Tampa.

Continuing education credits are available for Florida licensed nursing and mental health professionals. 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit available for Recognition, Diagnosis and Management of Substance Use Disorders in a Primary Care Setting.  Continuing Medical Education credit may be available for Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems: Informing Your Patients.

There is no cost to attend this event, which is sponsored by the Florida Alliance for Healthy Communities, Inc., and the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families. This education opportunity is provided by Gulfcoast South AHEC in collaboration with the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County and Drug Free Charlotte Prescription Drug Advisory & Action Council.
