Description

The Search for Honest Journalism in the Era of Fake News

Harvard’s own Charlie Sennott, a veteran journalist with a storied career as a foreign correspondent, will speak about attacks on the media and what can be done to strengthen legitimate journalism. According to Sennott, fake news is nothing new, but can be harder to discern in the digital age. “There are problems across the information landscape, including fake news manufactured in the dark corners of the web and in the corridors of power,” he says. “Opposite ends of the political spectrum retreat to cable news and social media networks that reinforce existing views.”

A Q&A will be held after the talk, followed by a wine and cheese reception at the Harvard General Store.
