ABOUT THE ARTIST & SHOW:
The Copper Coils are an eclectic group of musicians influenced by 60's and 70's rock to jam band, southern rock and blues. Putting that all together to create a fun-filled performance of covers and originals.
Charli is a singer / songwriter and plays acoustic guitar. She is currently playing her original music and her own twist on cover songs. Having been in various types of bands from jam bands to South African to punk rock playing guitar and bass, Charli has developed her own style which is always evolving. Having hung around with musicians for the majority of her life, Charli has had the privilege to train with a few of the best local found musicians, John Prestia, Twinkle , Terri Balash… to name a few. She has also performed in musical theater with the Venice Theatre.
Charli has also gone to school in Southern California at Mira Costa College for Sound Reinforcement and Studio Engineering. She was also an intern at California Center of the Arts in Escondido, doing work from lighting and sound to monitors and stagehand for the many performances and concerts held there.
I like to write my own songs / music, acoustic tunes that make me feel. And hopefully, others like them too. Each song is like a child or a best friend to me. I have a lot of influences and I like to incorporate them all into my music. I let the Muse lead the way.
Music is such a major part of my life and has always been my greatest friend on this journey of Life. There is always a song to fit the mood. I was lucky enough to join The Not Tuna Band; James Lewis on Bass, Jeff Van Pragg on lead guitar and vocals, Bob Laflamme on drums and me on acoustic guitar and vocals. After Jeff’s passing, we continued on adding Henry Feree. Between the 4 of us, we all sing, write originals and are always seeking for those musical magical moments together whether in the studio, performing live or just messing about.
